Partnership

The Thames Landscape Strategy is a non-profit partnership organisation consisting of 14 major riverside landowners.

We collaborate with members of our partnership organisation on projects from Weybridge to Kew.

Education and Outreach

We  deliver an exciting education and outreach programme each year to increase access and understanding of the Thames environment to as wide an audience as possible. The programme is wide-reaching and is designed to mix formal learning with volunteering, events, project work and the enhancement of recreational opportunities.

People need to know what is going on along the river and to feel that they have a voice in influencing its future

Please contact us or check out our social media to find out about upcoming events and how you can involved.

Camera Obscura

The TLS created a modern reinvention of an Eighteenth-century tea tent with an integral camera obscura that can be used as an educational tool to increase understanding about the remarkable Arcadian landscape.

These ‘obscura tents’ were once a common feature along the Thames providing a magical way for everyone to interpret the environment around them. This modern and portable tent incorporates a camera obscura at its top – reflecting an image of the surrounding landscape downwards to a table at the centre of the tent.

This tent forms the centrepiece of TLS educational activities to be used at organised educational days, special events and at fairs across the region.

For more information on how to have the camera obscura at your event/school please email: rebecca.law@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk
