Biodiversity action plan
The draft Hounslow Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) gives details of prioritised actions of protecting, conserving and enhancing wildlife and habitats in the borough.
We are consulting for twelve weeks on the plan, which was produced by members of the Hounslow Biodiversity Action Plan Partnership. The deadline is the 23rd January 2011
We are looking for your comments on both the format and content of this draft plan. You can complete the response sheet, available to download from the London Borough of Hounslow website
The Hounslow BAP Partnership will appraise responses before seeking formal adoption by the council and endorsement from other partners.
After this consultation, the partnership will devise a work programme based on the objectives contained within the plan and to implement the actions, achieve the targets and monitor progress. Progress will be reported annually to all partners.
In the past, biodiversity has largely been the preserve of land owners and naturalists; we all need to play our part in conserving and enhancing local biodiversity. This is not just about the protection of rare or threatened habitats and species but also ensuring those things currently common and perhaps taken for granted are similarly catered for so that they do not themselves become threatened.
What we want you to do:
First, tell us what do you think of this document – get your comments to us by one of the means indicated on the response sheet;
Secondly, tell us how you or your organisation like to get involved in delivering the BAP. For example, volunteering at your local nature reserve; encouraging wildlife in your garden or local allotment; or by carrying out local wildlife survey etc.
